In what time frame did you spend $200? If it is in one day and you got no sales, you need to be far more targeted with your ads.

How many clicks did you get for that $200?

Your problem could be anything from your landing page to the keywords that you are focusing on in your advertising.

If you'd provide more details, maybe someone here could help.

You need to do a few things:

1.) Choose loads of cheaper but highly targeted keywords (Avoid words like "Diet" and instead use more direct phrases)
2.) Group you keywords into categories
3.) Create custom landing pages for each category

You need to convert your sales and try to pre-qualify your visitors.

High traffic isn't the answer - A smaller amount of prequalified traffic is!!

The worst case scenario is 200 keywords funneling into one landing page.

If someone for instance is searching for info about a certain type of diet, you aren't going to sell them your eBook using a "catch-all" page. If your keyword is "Atkins Diet", the page they go to should have all kinds of info on why your book is even better then the Atkins diet!

It takes a long time setting up the pages but the conversion rate is far better.

Start with a common template and create each subpage by tweaking it.

I don't want to give specific examples for obvious reasons but the theory of it is what is important.

Bum Marketing is hard work (and slow!) assuming he doesn't outsource the content. Although it's much cheaper.

Willing to help you make that first sale, what
product are you trying to promote and also
are you just linking directly to the affiliate page.

Please can you also state the exact ad copy that
    you used on adwords ad.

    Yours,

Use less keywords. Ideally ONE keyword per campaign. And constantly test and track. Usually, if you don't make a sale within 100 clicks, then the landing page probably sucks.
