Hi, I have searched this forum and can't find an answer to my question, but i'm sure it must have been asked before. My apologies if it has... I am new to CJ and other affiliate sites, I have a webpage with lots of affiliate banners on it, it seems to take a long time to load and I believe (I could be wrong) that it is because it has to contact all the different affiliate websites to download the banners. Can the tracking code be changed to point to an image stored locally on my web server ? I noticed in the "img src" part of the link it has numbers which i presume are my affiliate ID. If I change the code to point to a local image will this render the tracking invalid ? Secondly, am I "allowed" to change the code ? Thanks in advance, Mike.
Changing the img src should not be aproblem. I am not sur eif you are allowed to change the code, but it should not make any difference. Most affiliates just take the target link and modify the rest. Whether image is loaded from your site or some other sites, should not make any difference in loading time. Unless the site that serves the image is pretty slow - which seems unlikely - you need not change it.
Thanks for the info, think I will leave the links as they are and find the real reason why the pages load so slowly !
http://admania.net I download all banners and publish through my own platform, no problem at all They just cannot tracking your impressions, nobody pay by impressions these days, so no problem at all
