To choose keywords, just guess which ones you think would be good, or use the keyword suggestion tool here to help kinda figure out which ones get decent searches, then paste the top 5 people for that phrase into uptimebot.com to see if you can get enough links to beat 'em! Also you should submit your tutorials to goodtutorials and similar sites - that can bring a lot of traffic. Definitely don't spam people.

Not just meta tags but also in TITLE tag .
And on the page itself of course .

    If you are saying :
    "This tutorial is ..."
    say this instead:
"This tutorial on (Keywords) is ..."

This will add keywords to your page without spamming and stuffing .
Do not overdo it . You would not like to get penalised for over optimisation .

    regards

    My 2 cents:
    1. Make sure all the links within your site function well so the SE bots can fully scan your site.
    2. I get the impression that you've already built the site. If that's the case, then look at each article/tutorial you've placed on each of your content pages and use the words in the title of each article as the primary keywords for that page. You can tell it is the right keyword if it shows up elsewhere in the article itself.
    3. In the sitemap for the site, replace the text for each page link with the keyword(s) being used on that page in bold type. (The sitemap is a page that contains a simple text link to each page on your site, with no other content. Place a link to this page at the bottom of your home page using the text "sitemap").
    4. After you've posted ten times here, make a signature with a link to your site so that every time you post, you'll have a crawlable backlink to your site, allowing it to be crawled by 'bots.

There's lots more, but I'm sure you'll be fine.
