newbie affiliate question

    1. If I take one of linkshare's pre-generated text links and change the anchor text on it, will I still get credit for the click?

    2. Does the click have to originate from the website I registered with linkshare?

    You can change the anchor text, and it will still track properly.

    It can also be on any site and still track properly.

    One of these may violate the particular merchants terms though, I would look into that first.

    Both are right, you can change text and it works.

    I don't use LinkShare now but you should check the terms for both practices.

    If I remember you can change anything but the tracking code (text or images are okay) and use on multiple sites YOU own only, without special permission.
