This may be a no brainer and I often times make things more difficult than they really are but I'm starting a new web site and I'd like to add a blog "on" it, not a link to a blog site but a blog on the site.... am I making sense? I'm really starting knowing nothing here so can someone please give me the dummy guide to adding a blog to your site? Is there some kind of software? I keep reading about wordpress.... it's a free thing? I'm hosted on godaddy and they have something... is it worthwhile? Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks Lisa
Hi I haven't used the godaddy offering, i think godaddy are good for domains and domain management, not too sure about their hosting and applications. I like wordpress, however there is a post here that doesn't read very well. Some performance issues and the like. It is however easy to use and does a good job of just publishing your blog in the manner you would expect a blog to work. I don't think there are many 'add to my website' blog applications around as opposed to linking to a blog server of some sort, so for the moment you may be stuck with wordpress. Hope this helped J
Hi, thanks.... I did actually decided to try the godaddy blogging add on and it seems to work quite well, it's part of my domain name... http://www.myrollercoasterkid.com/serendipity gets you to the blog page, I've only written one and I'm mostly just throwing stuff at the site (please don't look at the design I just threw that together in 2 minutes to get something up there) anyway, for anyone that's interested, it seems to work well, I just need to do some fine tuning to get my page looking the way I want and making the blog more obvious on the main page. Hope this is helpful to someone else that is looking at a site with a blog feature. Lisa
