hi all, i plan to have a site running, but i wonder, whenever i use google to search for some word, many sites appeared in different order, page. So my question is, what make the site to appear at 1st 2nd or 3rd page? What basis steps should be done to have the site appeared in a good place with main info about the site?
To get a good rankings in google you need loads of backlinks with sites that are doing the same thing as you, you have to know quite abit about SEO. i dont fully understand your question but i hope that this help you.
It's a combination of things. Search engines want to have the most authoritative and relevant results on the first few pages. They assess this using what keywords you have, how often you use those keywords, how many sites link to you with similar keywords (relevant backlinks), how old your site is etc. The only ones you can really try to change are your keywords, links and content. Do this well and you'll attract more visitors, the site will last, gain a good reputation etc.

Many sites linking to your site - and if they have good link text the better. For example, if somebody links to yoursite.com and has "blue cars" as the link anchor text (the colored link text that people click ) then it can help you rank better when people search for "blue cars". If the links come from very popular sites (lots of traffic & many people linking to these sites), then it's better than having somebody link from new site with little traffic. Do a search for "SEO" (search engine optimization), like "SEO tips" or "SEO beginner guide" etc. and you'll find plenty of information.
i dont understand the most thing, is there any such service to bring up the rank of the web EG I have a golf store, i want when ppl search on google for "golf" or "golf store" etc... it should appear at page 2 or 3. I dont know anything about this.
"Golf Store" Virtual or Brick and Mortar? Virtual will be tough and will take some time. Brick and mortar would be much easier. So which is it?
Yes, there are SEO companies that will do it for you, there are lots of SEO companies, lost and lots of them. They will do it for a price, so you need to shop around, and get the best deal from a reputable company. To target a competitive term such as 'golf' or 'golf store' will be costly. You have a better chance at starting with a 'long-tail' phrase, such as "golfing equipment in Manchester".
I agree with TEGS. Brick and motor isn't easier. I have a friend who owns 3 stores it's a struggle. You have rent to pay, insurance, telephone bill, electric, water, security systems, alarm services.......*GASP I'm out of breath and you get the idea. What's the deal with a website? If you're shared 6.99 a month plus a few bucks for your domain at worst and maybe an SSL cert. Internet is the way to go.
This is the most correct. I have sites with minimal back links, and on the front page, and one at a solid number 1 ranking on the SERPs. It's not all about back links, and volume. It's about relevancy. One of the often overlooked, but very important pieces is site design, and how your do your pagename.html . 2 cents.
Hi , I don't worry about getting a site ranked, I just do it in less than 2 hours time. How is this possible?.......well I do it like this, I go on ebay, and use the (About Me Page) then I link it to my website. Next...this is the real secret......I then go online and write 2 Press releases about 6 to 8 paragraphs long full of keywords. And then link it to my web site. Also after you write the press release take the address of the press release and post it in the Google web site submit pages. Then a few hours later,type your title in the google pages and watch it come up to the top. It's not important if my web site gets ranked.....as long as the press release's make it to the top. Over time you can keep writing press release's and building up your web site strength.As your web site grows, be sure to keyword it also.And it will grow and rise to the top. You may be wondering why I say post a page on Ebay.......well ebay is huge, put a link from a large web site and aim it at yours and the spiders and ranking robots will love you. In fact I have 28 ebay accounts, and I aim them all at lots of different web sites and blogs I own, trust me it works big time. But you need to study and do some research on how to use keywords to get ranked. I have been doing this for many years now. There's an art to it. I wish you the best. One more thing I forgot to say ......try and think of your web site as the planet earth......and think of your links from hundreds of blogs and Top Press release's as your satellites, that circle your very own world and think about how this satellite links beam down 1000's of visitors from other worlds..........if you can picture this in your mind, this is how to best build a web site. If you worry about your main website being ranked and having no satellites then you risk the chance of putting all your eggs in one basket. If the web site falls out of the rankings...then you loose your business. But if you have 100's or 1000's of ranked satellite links,you can float above everyone else.
