I've downloaded php, apache, and mysql, but it's way over my head... I have this pre made php script ive aquired and would like to see what it looks like. Could anyone tell me a simple way to do this? The script I have is like 60 .php files and about 14 various folders.

Id eventually like to get the script setup on a website and possibly get a site going with a good amount of traffic, but for starters Id just like to see what it looks like.

If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great!

Forget trying to install them all by yourself and grab XAMPP from apachefriends.org . It will do it all for you, then you're good to go.

wamp is good, install it and you will have all apache, mysql and php. Then move the script to the www folder and you and view it by typing localhost in your browser

I find EasyPHP ideal for newbies as it is easy to install and requires zero configuration. Just keep all your website codes under "www" folder and you're good to go.

    There's a step-by-step tutorial here too: http://klikr.net/local-test/
