They nearly stopped completely after two weeks but in the last few days they've started to get more frequent and more powerful it seems.

This page shows you a map of where all the quakes have been and when and how strong

I could take the annoyance its just the very high prob of a much powerful devastating quake that would worry me.

Interesting data . By the looks of it things are going as usual and you should be earthquake free in a couple of weeks (well you won't be capable of feeling them) . But paranoia will stay whit you for some more months . I haven't had a look at the your national seismological data but AFAIK things are good for now .

Another aftershock has hit Canterbury this morning, giving rattled residents a fresh fright.

The 4.5 magnitude quake struck at 9.17am, 30km west of Diamond Harbour, at a depth of 15km.

It followed violent ground shaking in western Christchurch during yesterday's big aftershock, which scientists say was on a par with that of the September 4 earthquake.

The 5.033 magnitude aftershock was the ninth-biggest quake in terms of energy released since the magnitude 7.1, according to GNS Science.

Yesterday's quake was the third shake of around magnitude 5 in as many weeks and was the largest in six weeks since the magnitude 5.342 aftershock at 3.24am on September 7.

Hmm , the one from yesterday was a full blown earthquake on it's own triggering his own series of aftershocks . It might be scary but as you know it is a good thing . If the plates are moving they aren't building stress .

I guess it's a good news if it's right, right? But regardless of that, even the moving plates can create havoc and bring down biggest of buildings depending on the intensity of the quake at the given moment. SO better watch out.
