Did you read the part that well over 100 of my sites are now reindexed to pages that haven't existed on those sites in 4 months? (links that haven't existed since I bought them)
d'uh, no i'm not. I'm just saying that it's too early to claim that it's a HUGE data lost when it'll be confirmed that it is not...or it is. Y! will definitely make an official announcement on this issue soon. I'm also not saying it's a data lost cuz the little data i have at hand is proving me otherwise. One of my online shops is back in Y! and 1 million links showing every 2 hours after it disappears again.
At first glance I would say that Y! has moved a lot of the weight away from internal links. Like I say, this is my firt reaction based on gut and a quick glance. I wouldn't normally have worried but as this is such an animated debate I thought I should have a look. I normally don't count the chickens before they hatch though
I love it when someone nit picks my posts, but doesn't say anything about the total or anything about the other points. My post said MAYBE a dataloss. The POINT being made was that the indexed pages are OLD pages that haven't existed for 4 months and that all new pages are gone (for me). I didn't say data loss either. I said Maybe. But definately some sort of update. What this concludes is that: indexed pages are OLD pages that haven't existed for 4 months and that all new pages are gone (for me).
Must be Yahoo indigestion. Serps for my category have settled again. See one difference where the site that was 3 has lost tons of ground. Yahoo gets sick...everything is a jumble. Y takes bicarbonate of soda. Everything settles down. Dave
Ok my love, let's settle the issue - PEACE! you said maybe and i'm very sorry i picked up on your post without getting into a lot of details on what i mean. I'm doing at least 4 things at the same time so please bare with me. Sorry and yeah, you did say MAYBE!
Hey, last updates are nothing more than trouble. And this, today, is for me problem with database. Is that realistic?
Could this have something to do with the Hurricanes maybe? Temporary loss of data or connection to data centers - and the system switching between datacenters in the meantime to keep Yahoo running??
Guess we can't stop speculation. I think the fear arises because of the july death. So, here is me crossing my fingers (for everyone). (none have come back for me -------- yet.)
Many years ago I was told the story of the 2 bulls. it goes like this...... 2 bulls were standing at the top of a big field, (an old bull, and a young bull), when the bottom gate opened, and in were herded 20 young cows, all looking sexy (in a cow way of course, I am not a perv) . The young bull turns to the old bull and says 'cmon old man, let's run down there and F*** one of them cows'. The old bull smiles and says 'NO son, let's walk down and f*** them all'
NIX that. I just did a rescan of "the" 100 sites, and everything is back and updated as if nothing ever happened. Now for the traffic.
I don't know if i'll laugh tomorrow when i check my rankings but at least i did have a hearty one right now!
