Can I ask a dumb SEO newbie question? How do I check 100 keywords or more at a time on Yahoo to see where my rankings have fallen or risen? Thanks!
Actually for me the sites that went up didnt have adsense e.g. www.what-the-dickens.com went up for totheendsoftheearth and it doesnt have adsense If they are penalising adsense then the next debate is whether getting adsense income is worth the loss of traffic from Yahoo and secondly is it legal for Yahoo to penalise sites because they have adsense?
"The Yahoo update has really hit my sites hard!" Does anybody noticed that ALL sites are hitted hard. Results are dropped by min 70%
Please forgive my caustic remarks on this topic but this is to be expected and nothing weird. Y! is just testing new algos that will kick asses of spammers. Certainly Y! is the most poluted search engine as we all know. "Link quality" could be more an issue on this update than "link popularity". It will be a shame though, if quality backlinks won't appear on the serps.
That's right! very strange and unfair indeed. I think we're beginning to see that pattern .. last update was a preliminary one. This time maybe the time for them to really emphasize it.
You can be as honest as you like with me webmistress. I hope that this update will revert back because it doesnt seem like the search results are relevant which is of course the main aim of any search engine.
There's nothing related to adsense in this update...they're perhaps trying to make a clean search engine that will boost the investing moral of YPN advertisers. It's also a good starting point to launch their long awaited site explorer. In any case, i wis...erm...hope we all don't lose our listings bigtime
My opinion is that Y! created algo that disapointed in praxis. Much more spam after "Charlie". Now, I hope they will repair that. I lost income in july, and now this.. Huh
Please, webmistress everything you talk about some how relates back the the "spammers" , and cleaning up the internet. What does the "quality" of the links a site have to do with the "quality" of the sites content. I have like 30 sites missing, some are affiale sites, some sites that repersent brick and mortar business, hopefully this will play out. The results seem so screwed up that hopefully they can't stay that way.
no I am not actually when you enter a site , do you read its incoming links? No you, read the the sites contnet, link have zero effect on the user experience
well like others have said you could spam a competitors site with hundreds of spammy links to make them fall in the SERPs. If something that affects the SERP's is possible to be outside the website owners control then it is liable to be abused. Would you not agree?
I'm not talking about my personal views here ferret. I'm referring to a normal and logical course of action that Y! should have taken long ago. It's surely related to spammers cuz that basically the prime problem of yahoo after charlie update. I'm in no mood to argue right now because i'm losing very important listings too that could cost me 30% of my income here and for some people, 100% i'm sure. It's no time to argue, just see my points and let's keep it open.
with DP's keyword tracker several of my keywords are gone, but when i goto Y! and manually check its still #1. Perhaps a problem with the tool/api is also part of this?

Not mine > primer: If you insert "Corporate governance" total number of results is 246,000 against 9,750,000 fiew days ago. And this is not all: when you try to dig more pages from sites which are on first page - top results I can see also small number of pages.
