New writing scam

This is a scam to make money off of you.

They want your email address (as an opt-in) to sell you worthless writing materials, and get middle man fees.

In the last 6 days, I have received this same email 4 times. If they had business leads, why would they not work them themselves? Here is the email message:

"If you're taking on new clients, I'd like to include you in my private referral network to send you business leads through Referral Key.

Please accept my invitation below. Thanks!

    Sincerely,"

---I hate seeing people being taken advantage of ----stop the spam, stop the scam---

I have never received such email nor my fellow writers so I guess it comes from a website you are subscribed to or from where you left your email to grab something.

I see crap like that all the time coming into my directory through the contact form and on occasion directly mailed to me using an address I very infrequently drop anywhere but is displayed on my site.

Just a thought, but if the scammers haven't found you, perhaps your target customers can't either.

You are right YMC. It is probably my fault for not explaining stuff in child simplicity to the doubter.

These are members of another forum. They are coming to the DP forum and trying to track down the BEST writers.
Next is an email enticement sent out by a number of their members to set you to join a job referral connection.
Since they did not consider you in this category, Mystique, I could send you one of mine so you could sign up. --------------------------------

Yup, been hit by them as well. They received my standard "Your mail has been classified as junk mail, and has been deleted" response :D

Never ever reply! That just confirms the email address is good and actually read. It makes your email worth more to the spam list builders which in turn usually leads to more such junk hitting your inbox.

Good point inflightlady, and welcome to the Forum. We need all the thinkers we can get, to offset those that think writing is just a game.

Never care for such emails. I immediately delete if I read such spammy words. Take time earning money with obvious ways.
