New Windows Directory Script

I finally finished my directory software called creadirectory: http://www.creascripts.com/creadirectory.asp

Here is a list of what you can do with it:

• Integrate PAYPAL with your directory and start accepting fee based submissions.
• Generate dynamic Google Sitemap.
• Display a small image of the website beside listings (Alexa’s Thumbnail).
• Automatically insert your Google Adsense for increasing your revenue.
• Generate your pages dynamically (.asp) or statically (.html).
• Create unlimited number of categories and sub-categories.
• Customize the directory header and footer to meet your branding needs.
• Set the colors in your directory layout to match the colors in your website.
• Block any undesired spammers by using the built in IP filtering system.
• Configure your directory’s emailing feature to work on your server.
• Use Creadirectory’s feature-rich emailing system to customize the email content that you send out to the members of your directory.

Just a quick suggestion... Implement a check for field lengths to the desired limit (preferably, show a message with information on how many characters are allowed so that guess work is not required). That way, an error like this one would not occur upon submission...

I don't really know how you did that as each field has a maxlength option used which correspond to the size in the database. I tried it and works fine for me. Are you using a software maybe?

The script is running on Windows so there's no mod_rewrite but I created a function which creates the html pages. You can see that with www.directorystation.com which uses creadirectory.

Probably someone testing the admin panel as the field can be modified. I think I'll modify that now.

 

It's showing sites' urls in jump url, so no PR will be passed.

 

This is just setup that way in the demo but you can choose if you want direct link out or redirect link out (which will count how many clicks out each listing gets).

I have bought this script and changed it so it can be used with mod_rewrite and some other minor improvements. It still can be improved but it is generally a good script and it is worth the price, specially since it is difficult to find a good directory script for window hosting.
