Reading from various sources , i have found that rapid building of links to a site will result in being sandboxed !! But this did not say 2 links added can result in it being sandboxed . But for me , everything was going well ... Two of my sites were ranking well , yesterday i only did link exchange with 2 sites related to mine !!! And only because of this , i am sandboxed today ! So to conclude , new websites should not have incoming links ? huh
It really depends on what 'other' hype is built around your site. What you're hearing is true from my perspective. BUT if you can create the illusion (or really) of cutting edge or newsworthy..press releases etc, then the smart ASS Gbot might be convinced that you don't deserve the sandbox, IMO .
Getting 2 links will not result in your site being 'sandboxed'. If your site is new (less than a year old) and you are targetting competitive keywords, you will find it hard to rank highly.
it's not about the links it the quailty of the links and the age of the domain may play a little part in that also the subject matter if you found the cure of cancer .. i bet you would rank in google on a brand new domain... if you found a cure for mesothelioma that might just be a different ball game ... you might need to drop google an email for that one
Hi, the timescale doesn't sound right to me. For a new site, you'll probably have to go back and look at what you did at least a couple of weeks ago to figure out what happened. Cheers, Paz.
new websites should not have spammy looking inbounds, if you can get some nice prominent links on authority sites then go for it. Also you say you did a link exchange meaning you have a reciprocal link to the other site, correct? You might want to check that you havent inadvertantly linked to a banned site.
Well link exchange don't get you in the sandbox... it's the competetiveness of the keyword that puts you in the sandbox... you can easily come out of it by press releases and making a buzz of your site on the net... The sandbox phenomenon is quite understandable... If a site that is quite new rank high then what would the old guys do who have worked hard to come there for several long years... When in the sandbox google keeps on sending the robots to see what the new site is worth... Is it updated regularly (fresh content for visitors) does it contain good content (for the visitors who have come there to find) etc. So IMO it's a good thing... Take care Manish
We all think of Google as a single algo. It is more probable that is a variety of different ones, maybe 3 -4 hundred, all like judges at a beauty parade. Often sites jump #1 for a non commercial phrase, then slip back after a week. This is the age algo or sandbox as we call it. To the reverse keep link building and 1 way helps or pyramid. If you don't you will stay in it, since there is probally a threshold energy to depart after the time expires which is different for different keywords.(linked to adwords???)
If your site is new then just dont target highly cometetive keyword...rather target a less competetive keyword related to your niche...and enxhange links with quality sites...
