For new websites, how many links can you do without risking a massive Google penalty? Eg 5 links per month, 50 links? Should you wait 3/4/5/6/7 months before building many links??? Many thanks to anyone who replies.
There is no limit of links that you can make and you should not spam while creating backlinks - any link quantity is good and i can help you achieve this. Hope this helps...
Unless you are getting enormous amounts of links very quickly (thousands / day) then don't worry about it. Google themselves state that you shouldn't worry about this. If you do trip a filter (because you have a very popular site) then someone from Google will manually check it. If it is legit then you'll be fine, if you're spamming to get backlinks then clearly you won't be fine ... but of course you aren't doing that are you?
It totally depends on where you get the links from. If it is a standard link exchange, 50 per months is safe but 100 is to much. Pay for links and get caucht it not good for even one. Just keep track of the "nofollow" sites, they have no value at all so don't waste you time.
there is no limitation. Maximum links means more popularity but the thing is links should be of relevant & high PR sites.
There is no limit on the number of links posted by may put a limit on how many you can post a day and for how long regularly?
If you invented an amazing new product that everybody wanted, and it got picked up by MSNBC, FOX, CNN, etc, and hundreds of thousands of people saw it and linked to your site overnight do you think Google would penalize you? Backlink explosions won't hurt you, but try to build good links instead of junky ones.
No number is too many or too less. But it depends on the frequency of the addition of links. You cannot add innumerable links in a single day. Any unnatural increase in the number of links is considered as spamming and one should refrain from doing that. Link building can be done for years at a steady pace.
