    Hello everybody,

My name is Tim. I recently launched a website. The URL is
    http://www.soccer-tricks-exclusive.com/

It's been online for less than a month so I'm not (high) ranked in the search engines. But since it's my first website, I have a simple question. Do you think I'm doing this right, or do you have any tips?

    Thanks!

    Regards,

    Tim

Hi Tim! Just visited your site.Well, it is new as you said. Not so much on it so far.You need to add soccer-related content to your site over time and soon you will get lots of traffic. Before writing articles, do a keyword research to see what keywords people use to find soccer-related content.Try keywords with less competition, but still has a few hundred searches per month.May sound small, but it ads up over time.

Google keyword tool is great (free), wordtracker is also good (costs money)

Get the SEO starters optimisation guide from Google. Do some keyword research. Find out long tail keywords and you should do fine when you do the optimisation as said in the guide

My only advice for the landing page itself is to make it a little more appealing to the eye...maybe put a video or two up, because as of right now it looks like some affiliate script control panel :(

That's a very long domain name... People are going to have a hard time remembering it...

I suggest you buy a much shorter domain (or 2) and have it forward to your site and give out that domain while posting links in social sites like Myspace, Facebook, and posting articles in Digg.com and posting in blogs and other forums. Just make sure you have your site's URL linked to your signature.

My tips would be article submissions and blog posting to get things started.. In your niche of course.

I suggest you add videos and graphics into it i.e. youtube. Use headlines to generate interest. Also, go ahead and put more articles and links to full stories like the newspapers.

Im not sure why CMS you are using but would suggest using something like Wordpress and a better theme...

Who is your intended audience and why would they visit, and if they do visit what value will they come away from your site by visiting?

Thanks for all the quick and useful replies :)

Tom Lindstrom, I use Google keyword tool but I didn't know what a fair amount of searches was. Thanks!

gopalg, I'll take a look at that guide.

dshops, you're right. It's a bit boring and empty right now. I was planning on writing a few more articles, or adding a video. Something like that.

internetmarketingiq, I understand your comment. I try to ask and answer this question myself as well. My intended audience are people who like soccer tricks and want to learn them.

Dog, thanks. You're right. There are hundreds or maybe thousands of relevant videos to post in.
