Its not a very bad start at all, although You might have to invest some money in setting up your site though, a domain and hosting would be a good start (google sites is not very professional at all), and also consider hiring a professional designer and coder to build you a decent web site then you can worry more about the business side of things.

Get your site out there! Advertise on all the free directory's you can find, submit it to all the social bookmarking sites, write articles about your niche and submit these to articles directory's, post comments on blogs leaving your link, post comments on forums with your link in the signature. The more places you put links to your website the more visitors you will get and more visitors means more $$$.

First of all you have created a free website. Serious and professional persons do not want to visit free website. Because who is himself not serious while creating a domain or website at a free host with a free domain, then how much visitors will come???
So search engine also ignore such websites which are of free nature. So please transfer your website at .com. And then see the results.

Ask similar content sites for reciprocal links and try getting your site in directories. Start some link pages on your site early.

using a free web hosting is a bad idea. try looking for a web host company (which comes out to $5-$10/month) and getting your own domain name (which comes out to $10/year)

Read about SEO first, you can find lots of discussion about SEO here in DP. If you have a budget you can hire a professional SEO or find an SEO company. Make sure that all the method they will implement are white hat.

why does it make any difference using a free host? what could an expensive host do differently? surely all they do is host it no matter how much i pay?

I know what you are doing wrong...

You do not listen to people that have more experience.

But hey, at least you have tons of ads/amazon stuff on your site... and you think you will now make big money, huh?

Did you do a research about competitors? You have a clue about marketing/online-marketing at all?

If you want to make money, listen to people that give you tipps for free... read posts/blogs/articles about your "niche"

Get a domain name (helps in many ways, you would know about it if you would read some stuff about SEO/customers/marketing) and get a website done correctly... readable... easy to navigate.
