Okay, I've started to design my new website Dubai Vacations The design is very basic because I want the website to be easy to navigate, clean and crisp.. Now, I have spent a few hours playing around trying to find which is the best place to put the navigation. I'm gonna go with text links due to aid SEO but where could I put the links without it looking odd, but easily to find? Also any other constructive critism is welcome.. Darren
Darren, don't know what's up with the link/site setup but http://www.dubai-vacations.co.uk/ showed up blank, but when I typed in http://www.dubai-vacations.co.uk/index.html I got the page. Is that all the content for now? I see no logo, no site title/name. How many items will there be in your menu system? Any sub categories/drop downs/pop-ups? How many pages do you have planned?
Lever, I've only started designing this morning, ideally I want to get the home page completed, including SEO and then I can work on the rest of the content. I've got someone working on logo and the graphical side of the website. There will be 10 categories, and then subcategories under that. I was thinking about putting text links underneath the villa / pool photograph, and keep the structure like that on all pages. What do you think? If you have any other suggestions please let me know.
I see you're working on it, but it looks like a nice start. I like the light colors and centered look, very easy on the eyes & attention getting all at the same time.
There's room for a horizontal nav bar but they're good for short titles and drop-downs so the LHS menu, under the pic looks like a good move. The color combos are great and less is definitely more in this case. When's the next instalment
Thanks for your comments!! I'm going to with text links under the photograph, once I'm happy with the homepage I'll pick your brains for feedback on the next few pages!! Thanks again, Darren
