That's true, optimize your pages for both laptop and wide-screen users. Google says the best performing ads are the wide ads. People like to read in a long line and not up-down. I would replace the two top squares with one 728 x 90 ad.
Nice theme, but the content don't look good, it needs tidying up. And fix the images so they are not stretched
