New website checklist What all is needed? meta tags.. title.. keywords... what more?

    Hi guys,

    I've finally floated the website for my offline business and being a noob in SEO world, I need a checklist... What all needs to be done to complete the SEO on site...

    I have figured out the following:

    Title Tag: (10 words max ?)
    Description Tags ( 30 words max ?)
    Keywords Tag (I'm inserting around 150, is it overkill?)
    Favicon


    What more? Does photos with meta tags are preferable? what else is needed in terms of tags, code snippets etc.

    I hope this will end up as a checklist for other people too since I couldn't find a similar thread here on DP..)

    Too many keyword tags and they are pretty irrelevant. Don't forget search engine friendly URLs.

    Put your keywords into alt tags too. I am sure that I have seen a list like this in the forums though. You will need to dig around.
