We have just started a new webmaster forum and could do with some advice as to the best method of marketing the forum. We are intending this to be a long-term project and would like to build a good membership for the forum. The site can be accessed here: HERE. We will be adding a unique customised skin shortly however, would appreciate any advice as to how to promote the forum. Many thanks Deltrumweb
What you could try to get more users, is setup a contest where all users who post over 50 times in the first month are entered into a draw where they can win a cash prize of $100 or something like that. The more money the better obviously, and maybe offer runner up prizes aswell. Check out this site aswell, http://www.forumbooster.net/ Good luck with your site. -- Phil
Getting members to a new forum is not easy. No one wants to visit or post to a forum that looks like a ghost town. Paying people to post for a while to get things going can work. A contest is also a great idea. I've done that with success in the past.
Good luck with your forum. Running a contest is a great way to get other members spreading the word out about the forum. If you have the money to spend, try promoting threw adwords. Write articles about the forum and submit to article directories and even do a press release.
Starting another forum? I feel starting one more forum is easy but improving the registration and retaining them is really a tough task. Keep your forum active and my advance congrats for it to become a great one like dp
