New Webmaster Forum

Hello mods and admins,

I just had this doubt in my mind. If I am going to start a webmaster forum for a specific group of people (Indians) can I advertise it on DP.

When I say advertise, are the following points cool with the mod team:

1) Sig link with text like : Dp like forum for Indians.
2) Posting it in freebies and recruiting staff members ?
3) Creating a Social group for people to encourage joining the forum.

I want to clarify the above doubts. I need a yes, no or a good descriptive. Please don't start to rant about this

1. You can create a sig link to other webmaster forums. Probably best not to play it off of DP's name like in your example, but lots of folks link to other webmaster forums here.

2. If you're recruiting staff for an unpaid mod job there, then you can post it in freebies. If you post there just to say "come join my forum," that might border more on link spam.

3. No, you should not start a social group about it. That would be advertising. All advertising belongs in BST sections (or sigs) - not in social groups.

1) Wouldn't use a provocative text or mention about dp.
2) Would start a thread to recruit people.
3) No social group
