Pay Per Play is a program similar to Google Adsense, but instead of paying you based on how many clicks you receive, Pay Per Play pays you EACH TIME a person visits your website or blog. Like Adsense, you have to add some code to your site. This code will automatically play a 5 second audio ad when someone visits your site (right when the page loads). Each time the audio ad plays (each time a person visits your site), you receive 25% of the money that the advertiser of that ad paid to have their audio ad play on your website or blog! Also, these 5 second audio ads that are played on your site are TARGETED audio ads. Just like how Google analyzes your page to provide targeted Adsense ads, Pay Per Play analyzes your page to provide targeted audio ads. So, since the audio ads are targeted and only last 5 seconds, visitors to your site will not get annoyed by them (The people who created Pay Per Play audio ads did surveys about this). Feel free to post about what you think of Pay Per Play audio ads. markn26, The audio ads lasts only 5 seconds and it is targeted to the content of your website or blog. The people who created Pay Per Play Audio Ads did surveys about if people found the 5 second targeted ads annoying and the majority said they did not mind them.
Well, http://www.sellingppp.com/ (non-affiliate URL) has a pagerank 0, and looks like a cheesy ebook-sales website... If they spiffy up their design (make it look more professional), I might take a look...
vlad230, Actually, that is a question someone asked in one of their Q&A's. They (people who made Pay Per Play) said they will be factoring in that "loss" when they finalize their overall system. 25% is kind of low, but you do get that 25% from EACH visitor to your website or blog, as opposed to adsense, where you only get paid when a visitor clicks on an adsense ad.
The world is tired of advertising, yet the world runs on advertising. This technology maybe the next step that any website that wants to earn a profit (from advertising) must take. While I have never been fond of unrequested audio on sites, I do not want to turn a deaf ear to this possibility. I will check it out.
It's still not proven as a stable advertising system, but you can use the audio ads with AdSense - you don't have to choose one or the other exclusively.
i am not a fan of auto-play audio. but i do have some sites where IF this was well targeted I could see it not annoying users. perhaps have a cookie system to keep it from playing the same audio to someone for say... 7 days or so.
