Hiya, This is my 1st post on here so hello to everyone. I am looking to increase the number of links to my site and would be interested in any advice on the best and most cost effective ways of doing it. I have spent a bit of money on getting the on page SEO sorted. I am sure it is not perfect and on-page is such a subjective thing that 10 different experts could argue 10 opposing strategies. So, I'm happy with the on-page for now. I've also done a bit of article writing, but it has not yielded as many backlinks as I'd hoped for the time invested. Also, I've submitted the site to a few directories. What I'd like to do now is perhaps a 30 day plan to get as many quality backlinks as possible (white hat ethical stuff only please), so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
hi, and nice nickname by the way , beside directories, social bookmarking, paid blog posts, forums, link exchanges, i advice you to use the yahoo link explorer : https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ and try to find the links of your top competitors, then try to get the same links, that is the best strategy you can follow, if you can get the links of your #1 competitor, you can be #1 or #2 too good luck
a good methodology is siloing - build a squidoo page with good content and link to your main site, hubpages and link to a different page on your main site, blogspot link to your squidoo page, etc. keep it updated. It is lots of work but it will pay off big time.
You should consider also commenting on do follow blogs, posting quality comments would get you nice backlinks and probably a little amount of traffic too. I've been using this method and i must say that i am very happy since i found a lot of useful blogs and after making some quality comments on a blog i notice that many blog owners tend to link to your blog naturally.
I suggest don't go for massive link building like having a target for 30 days campaign. Instead build moderate backlinks and most importantly consistently. Add more contents to your site and consistently add more backlinks to your site following below tips: - unique domain - unique IP - anchored keyword - dofollow - pages with minimum outbound links (both dofollow and nofollow) - try to get some .edu and .gov backlinks (not spammed)
I suggest you read through my "encyclopedia" of link building tactics: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=12104573#post12104573
Well.. I would suggest use any backlink watch tool google webmaster or backlink watch or site pro's link checker and analyze your competitors back link.. and try to get back links from those references.. Anyways for quality backlinks you need have some patients also... all th best..
thanks everyone for those tips, i am going to spend this weekend coming up with a pan for the next 3/6/12 months, based around your suggesions. On the subject of commenting on blogs, how do you do it so it is not spammy? After all, you are doing it to get a link, so I guess it pays to be a bit...errrm "clever" in what you write?
Just use your real name when commenting, and make sure the comments add value to the discussion. After a while, the blogger may contact you (he or she will already have your email address), or you can contact them about possibly guest-blogging for them. Even if it doesn't happen, you can still develop a good solid networking relationship.
