Hello there, Please, pardon my ignorance, but there is always a first step, right? Here is my issue and I am trying to get some help here from you, skilled gurus! Called my webhoster, asked to set up a sample WP site for me. It's now running latest 3.5 WP core. Purchased a nice theme on "themeforest", but when I installed it, the page layout is completely different and doesnt look like the theme I bought at all. Am I doing something wrong? Where do I configure the layout? I went through all settings, there is background, menus, text boxes, but I see no layout. No matter what I try, I can't get the final page to look as what the theme author shows on themeforest site. Can somebody "kick" me in the right direction please? Many thanks!
Have you selected your theme in the "manage themes" tab? If not go to the "appearance" tab and select "themes" then from your available themes select your "themeforest" theme.
Thanks for the follow up. Yes, this is how I actually installed the theme. The theme itself is active, but the layout doesn't look even close to what the author shows on the themeforest website.
If you bought a theme from Themeforest there must be detailed documentation included. Make sure you create Menus, place Widgets, CHMOD cache directories and so on.
It's always possible, of course, that the theme on the site and the theme you got aren't the same theme.
did you selected home page from reading option?which theme you are using? in your theme document file, you will get all information. read that. let me know if any help needed. thanks
I am afraid they sent me the wrong theme. Or parhaps it was incomplete. I am able to install other themes and they show proper layout. This was the only problematic one. I was losing my mind of this, but now it seems there was a glitch in the theme itself. Thanks everyone for your help!
