I’m using Godaddy. From the FAQ pages they have it looks like the account and domain are active.

ok... what i would do at this point...

since I'm not entirelly sure what's been done and what not... I would contact godaddy and ask them to reset your account since you don't have anything there. this shouldn't take them that long...

once they've done that... even though I said not to earlier, I'm not familiar with godaddy's backend so if they have an automatic installer I would use it in this case...

What I'm thinking might have happened is that something of note might have accidentally been erased... Starting Fresh and knowing where to start should help you out on the second run through.

don't let this hickup freak you out... setting up WP is usually a breeze, and once you do have it up and running you'll love it.

have you already shelled out more than a month's payment for the godaddy hosting? If you haven't you might chalk that up to a learning experience... You could switch where your nameservers were pointing to a new host and be up and running fairly quickly... I use godaddy for all of my domain purchases, but not for any of my hosting... I've heard lots of stories along these lines...

if you think you might want to tray a different host you can check here or at webhostingtalk.com for some ideas... I'd also be willing to give you a quote, but if you're looking for "crazy amounts of space, and insane bandwidth" then that's not my bag...

I’ve been reading post over at WP’s forum and it seems that one solution would be to change from windows to linux. Does anyone know how to switch from Windows to Linux hosting in Godaddy without contacting customer service?

for that you'd have to contact customer service... it will require you to be moved to a different server.

Do you guys believe the only problem was the Windows hosting!!!! I changed to Linux and in less than 2 min had my WP blog up. Very, Very easy. Just in case anyone is interested in order for it to work you have to change in the “localhost” section in the wp-config file. I would like to thank everyone that helped me, thanks for the info. If anyone is having probs leave a post, I might be able to help.
