Hi all, Im new to building websites and this is my first post, i hope i put it in the right section. I appolagise if its not. Im using xsite pro to build my website, i brought my domains and hosting through godaddy. My first webstie seems to have published fine (the primary domain), when trying to publish the second site onto the same hosting ive been struggling. When i publish the new website it autumatically shows as the first website i published when i put the url in the search. i got in contact with godaddy but there help didnt seem to work. so just trying this option. Thanks, again i appologise if this is the wrong section
did you mean that you have two website(2 different layout) ? or just another page of your current (1st) website ? If you have two (different) website on the same (server) hosting with the same domain, perhaps you could : - create a sub-domain for your other website (subdomainname.yourwebsitename.com --> ex. : mail.yahoo.com) - or just simply just add a parked-domain. - or create another folder for your other website files. (www.yourwebsitename.com/folder_1 ; www.yourwebsitename.com/folder_2; etc.) - and/or tweaking the .htaccess file.
i have 2 domains..... for example domain 1 is my primary domain, i want to publish domain 2 (a completely deffiernt website). When i publish my domain 2 website and type it into the search, it goes straight into domain 1's website. Im trying to find a way to keep them seperate but can only do that if i take the www. out, its probably really simple just not for a newbie
hi friend you have submitted your post in right section ....I will just advice you to check your website domain may be it is causing some problem...
I guess so. You should configure it to redirect the parked domain to your other website files/folder. or perhaps you could googling on modding the .htaccess file (advanced user). If the problem persist, let me know, perhaps I can help you.
Hi Cobler, I have just recently used xsite pro to make 3 web sites all published using the same host. After putting up the primary site I had to go to my 'C' panel and manually add two more sub domains. Then I had to tell Xsite in the publishing tab where I had made them. In the domain name & the ftp directory fields instead of 'www' for the primary site I had to put ''public_html/'' (followed by the website url). Everything else password, username stays the same. When you publish your other site and it takes the place of your primary site you probably are telling xsite to publish it to the primary site. Hope this helps.
