Hey all, This is my first post. After reading lots of topics on these specific forums, I have gone really interested in making my own "niche" site. Here's the thing, I really do not have any HEAVY knowledge of building websites, are my chances now slimmer because of this? I heard you can buy this $5 template from JCE... do I still need some knowledge about web-editing and stuff for this? Of course, my other alternative is BANS, which seems like a great idea. The thing is, is it really worth the $97? If i were to buy it for $97, can I build more than one BANS or do I have to keep on paying $97 for each one that I want to make.... I'm guessing this is a pretty-good money maker on the side.... are there instances where people haven't made ANY money at all? I am going to stay commited to these websites if I do create them, it's not like I'm going to make one and just forget about it... I'm at home mostly on the internet all of the time, any recommendations? Thanks!!!!
First up, welcome to DP I always suggest that people consider writing their own CJ/eBay script using eBay's RSS feed and a bit of PHP - it's a lot easier than it sounds. But if you're not into coding, then BANS is a very good alternative. BANS has an unlimited site license, so you can make as many sites as you want... I can't comment on the $5 script, but at that price, there's not much to lose. GTech's phpBay Pro is also worth checking out.
hi: If you are non techcie, I proposed you buy BANS. It is easy and fast to set up. plus their support is top notch. You can read my blog on BANS (at my sig file) where I share some strategies that earned me nice $ via BANS. Or you want start coding to set up your eBay store. If you don't want the hassle, you can promote eBay items via Yahoo & MSN PPC! eBay affiliate program is quite lucrative if you do things right. It has earnerd me good money in the past but I quit the program anyway (that's another story). if you need help don't hesistate to feedback or PM me !
I just started using the CJ/ebay affiliate program on my VB forums page. There is a nice VB hack to add your PID number to any ebay related URLs people post to your forum I also plan to look further into BANS to have individual ebay related pages on my site as well.
BANS is a good choice for you. And worth it if you stick with. Definitely stay committed to the sites you DO create. I suggest you pick niches that you have interest in and stick with them. YES, there are a lot of people whipping out .info junk sites left and right with the BANS script. But IMO they are missing the WHOLE purpose and just wasting their time. Stick to your guns and do like you said above. Stay COMMITTED! Good Luck and I wish you great success.
i too was hesitant of paying $97 for bans just to try it out, so I got the $5 script... set it all up, liked it, but didn't love it... then i found phpbay lite, which is free and very very basic (phpbay is more involved). the lite version is just a wordpress plugin and did exactly what I needed it to, in my first week I've already made more than BANS would have cost me, with no upfront costs.... so maybe experiment with one of the lower priced ones and then move up to bans or phpbay
I'm not familiar with BANS but I can tell you that if you do your homework, you can learn how to create a basic site pretty quickly. Sure, it takes some trial and error and you might end up redesigning a few times but then you've got a whole new skill set. When I got started, I didn't even know what HTML meant. I taught myself enough to create my own sites and I' now on my 3rd one which is going to be a video site. Believe me, if I can do it, so can you. Sheree
We're piloting a hosted-platform that has many of the BANS features, but also extends into the CJ and Amazon product catalogs as well. It's also a little different in that it brings marketing help such as automatic blog posting to Blogger.com and an affiliate management platform..
