Sorry if this is incredibly NOOB of me, but I know nothing about SEO, API, and all of that. My background is more on the graphic design end of the spectrum, and my duties have changed somewhat. Could someone explain what the heck an API is, and what it does for me? I feel like I have made a presentable design for a site, and things work well, but wow... once I get into this whole google rank stuff my head kinda spins, and the ADD kicks in. Thanks! Pete
Check out Application programming interface. Usually it is some type of code etc to allow you to run certain things on your own site. For example, if you want to accept credit cards - you need a gateway, like LinkPoint. And they offer an API to integrate into your secure website so your customers never leave your website during the checkout process.
