I have been doing a lot of research on becoming an affiliate and was just wondering if you guy recommend one form of marketing over another. Or if most profitable accounts are using several different forms. ie forums(which ones),facebook, websites, twitter. Just curious what is the preferred? I own my own business and am looking to expand but I am also looking to build up my clickbank account. Should I even pursue online affiliate marketing or will it take up all my time? TIA my first blog just trying to get the hang of things be easy but I can handle constructive criticism http://dayandnightadvice.blogspot.com/2010/09/purchasing-vehicle.html
Welcome to DP! i don't think anybody can answer your question about if you have enough time to work on your business as well as doing affiliate marketing. Time management is one of the most difficult aspects of doing business. if you are new to affiliate marketing the only thing I can reccomend is staying away from PPC on google. It's expensive and will eat you alive. Most beginners start with free marketing like blogging and article marketing. These marketing techniques get you free traffic and from there you can tell if you are interested in affiliate marketing or not. Good looking blog! I realize that your blog is new and doens't have lots of content yet but the first thing I noticed is that I don't really know what your topic is about. Your tag line "Here to Help" is nice but it doesn't really explain the focus of your blog. Good luck blogging and hopefully you will see lots of success with affiliate marketing
Yes it is hard to answer this as there are SO many methods that you can use to make money as an affiliate some are harder and take more time than others - but the key is MASTER one area. It also depends on how much time you have, how much work you want to put in and how much money you have. If you want to get started with and do not have loads of time then I would suggest reading up as much info you can about Google adwords and PPC you can do a search here for that. If you don't want to spend a lot of money - article marketing and SEO is your best bet. Stick with one thing, when you see some success branch out, rinse and repeat and you will get there. Chiris
I respectfully disagree (at least to some extent). Although it will usually take you some time to optimize a PPC campaign and make it profitable, it's also the most immediate way of generating traffic. You press a button and within minutes you've got a stream of targeted traffic to your website. This is especially useful if you're trying to attain data to run split-tests (ie. opt-in forms, pre-sale write-ups, etc). You may burn through some money initially, but you can succeed with PPC if you thoroughly research your market & keywords before getting underway. You need to fully understand the "ins and outs" of paid search advertising before you start spending money, so I definitely recommend doing your homework. It's also worth noting that large, competitive markets (ie. fat loss, MMO, etc) will be more difficult given the high competition and steep bid prices. I'm not suggesting that PPC is a quick and easy way to get rich, but because it is an immediate form of traffic generation, it can be very useful when you're first getting started. Free marketing techniques, such as article submission or organic SEO, may be a better long-term solution but will take months to return any real profits. Just my 2 cents, anyway.
A quick one caught my eye which is the part where there are many methods of making money but you should ALWAYS master one area. It's pointless if you distribute your time all over the place learning bits and pieces on different methods only to lament about it later on why it doesn't work. Instead concentrate on one area to make it work and teach ppl how to instead! Sounds hard but it just takes perseverance.
I agree with you! Additionally it has to be a method that interests you. Do something that caputures you and you enjoy doing! No use of blogging when you hate writing!
To successfully set up your own effective sales funnel including free reports, auto responder sequences and the various other technical aspects of controlling it all, takes a fair ammount of know-how and time. My suggestion would be that you subscribe to a "plug-in-and-profit" system where the sales funnell is already set up, fully tested and optimized for maximum conversion of visitors to paying customers. This will keep your time spent to a minimum, which means you can spend all your time driving traffic to "your" funnel. Its rewarding to know that when you only have a short ammount of time to dedicate to your online business that the time you do spend is highly effective in return on investment.
I recommend doing Amazon product reviews and/or sites centered around google adsense. If you feel spammy you can go with the CB route. Find a product on Clickbank with 30-50 gravity, build a website around it, promote it with articles / web 2.0 properties / social bookmarking. For every 1000 targetted visitors you can make anywhere from 20$ to 100$. This depends on your Click-thru rate, cost-per-click, commission etc. And don't forget to build a list - do some heavy research into list building. Trust me, you'll thank yourself later.
