Hey all my name is jake I just wanted to introduce my self. I have not been a lurker long but this seems to be a very powerful forum and DP is a strong company. A little back ground. I have always dabbled in HTML and the such but recently in the past two months started learning and using PHP I am hooked. About a month ago I opened a e-commerce site using OS Commerce selling ebooks and independent software. It is a very small store and dose not realy make any money but it was just something to get me into the game. A week ago I opened a web directory using Site Sift. That is really taking off and my knowledge of PHP is growing quickly and I intend to rewrite some of the code to integrate some more features since there is very very little mod or aftermarket support for site sift. Actually in hind site PHPld would have bee a much better choice and I may switch if I figure out how to migrate my DB with all the links. Anyway I have become a total webmaster junkie and maintaining a directory is a ton of fun. I realy truely would like to find a way to make a good second income if not a replacement income eventualy. It's just going to take some time. I am currently offering free links on the directory until I build a good link base and some page rank. I am linked by about 800 directories so far but I am not showing up with any backlinks on google or anywhere else. It may be because the URL is just over a week old. Maybe someone can clear up why for me? Anyway this intro is long enough. Please feel free to check out my sites and register with my directory.
