We have a full-service site up and running and we have had high page ranks for many of our keyterms in the past, although in the last year or so many of our terms have dropped us off the first page of search engines. We are looking to climb back to where we were as we feel that with some improvement our website will see more traffic, and once we get people to our website people will see we are unrivaled in product depth, breadth and price. We have some ideas on how to improve our SEO. Any suggestions?

It seems you have good content or in-page factor (King), so maybe you need to improve the links pointing to your site or out-page factor (Queen).
Try getting links from authoritative and related sites pointing your site, not only to your homepage, to your inner pages too. And use keywords as anchor texts for those links. Exchange links are less valuable than non-reciprocal links.
TIP: Examine the links pointing to your competitors and try to get link from there to your site too.

Relevant, authoritative links are now the key.
3 or four years ago you could hit the top page of google simply by having lots of keyword links from any site linking to your site.
Not any more. It has to be authority driven now.
