Hi, Sorry for this newbie question but I thought I'd ask the experts about the value of reciprical linking. I was told today it was a waste of time and one way links are the only way to go, in your expert opinion is this true. Should I abandon efforts with exchanging links and finding new reciprical link partners? Probably a question that has been asked a million times on here, any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
thanks for that, I thought they did but the guy I spoke to suggested to me that reciprocal links are likely to get discounted. He explained that Search engines have a fantastically comprehensive link map of the Web, so they can spot reciprocal links easily. But I wasn't convinced that they would discount them entirely, surely thats how most sites go about building links?
To give you some heads up about SEO, further in depth, is the name of your links. SEO goes much farther into the site itself. Meta tags (which a lot believe to be dead), URI names (still very important to search engines), and keyword-matching. These are still very good ways to help raise your ranks.
