new to paypal

hello friends,
i am from india.
i am new to pay pal.
i would like to accept payments from all around the world in dollars and get the cash in indian rupees.

primarily i have created a paypal account. they have asked for verification. right now i dont have any credit card.
Indeed to start the business, should i need the credit card (please dont laugh at me if i am wrong).

what are the prerequisites to accept payments from paypal.

Paypal requires you to have a credit card to verify your identity so as to allow them to trust you. Besides since you are not from the US, a credit card is needed to make purchases through Paypal generally.

If you do not add a credit card and verify your account, your account would be unverified and as Paypal cannot trust you, you have an account which has limitations.

 

Ravindar It is very easy to get verified as you can get a VCC from a BST section and you can get it by paying just $5 or 6 or may be direct bank deposit .
Well if you do not want to do this the best thing is to go to ICICI and provide your documents and get a credit card. Its up to you to use it or no t..

 

izeaus is right and also you can use Debit Card to verify your account.

But to take a credit card, i must submit documents like my income is so and so..

but now i am not an employee. so how could i get it?

 

I got verified via my HDFC debit card and they deducted a minimal fee of $1.95 (Rs 80 at that time). Its simple. You'll get a 4 letter code by PayPal in the next statement of your account next to the deducted fee. Once you enter that code in the PayPal account you're done.

You can use credit card of any person... your parents, your friends and so on..

 

so you mean credit card is used for verification. there will be no relation with that in the future. i mean will money credited to their account and etc.

if that is not the case, lets assume that verification is over, then can i select my bank and get the cash into that accout?(my bank will be different from that credit card's bank)

 

First of all let me be clear here .

I am talking about my credit card. I am a student and I do own a credit card as of now from ICICI bank how come. I just went to ICICI bank and told them my situation . I got information about getting a credit card . I did apply with my permanent address and ID proof with the salary slip of my DAD . My dad was given a credit card and I was given an addon card which is also a credit card.
So u can also get it but in the meanwhile you shuld have permission from your DAD IMO if he does know about your intentions as My DAD is completely aware of my workaround.

 

I believe that the lastname on the card would have to match the creator of the accounts lastname or else it might fail verification.

 

Not true,name on credit card must match the name on paypal account.

If u r above 18 then u can deposit 40k INR to ICICI and they will issue u credit card in 5 working days.

If u do not get real CC,then u can also verify ur paypal by using VCC.check out BST section,many sellers selling VCC in a range of $4-$6.

 

If your name on the credit card does not match the name in your paypal account then it totally defeats the purpose of verification.

 

i have a standard chartered bank salary account.
they have given me a dibit card.
so can i use this salary account debit card for paypay verification?

i think my step next must be
1. open an account in a bank and get debit card

or
2. create a paypal account similar to my dad bank account name and use
that credit card


which one would you prefer?

 

Use a virtual credit card it costs just 5$ to verify your account , yoou can find many people selling vcc in this forum

if i buy a VCC, their name and my account name may not match.(because paypal verification requires credit card holders name and the paypal account last name should match. i have come to known about this in this thread itself)

if no matching is required, i can you my relatives credit card. right?


i am still not clear

if we can use relatives credit card and matching should be there, then i will create a paypal accout that has same name as my relatives credit card name.

well... i decided to use my relatives credit card.

one of our friend said in this thread that credit card holders name sholud be matched with the pay pal account holders last name

then should i create a paypay account that matches the requirement and proceed?
