New to Paypal; Have questions

1. Is it possible to verify an account using a Visa gift card? What is needed to verify? Credit Card, Bank account, both?

2. If I use my parent's credit card (I do not have my own) do my transactions show show up on their bill? I don't plan on charging anything on the card, but I guess they need a card in the system in order to be verified. So if I use my parent's card will it show, for example, $10 sent to xxxx, you sent $5 to xxx..etc

 

My understanding is that Visa gift cards work the same as any other card.

They do charge small amounts to the card sometimes for verification. They carge .01c and then refund it immediately. As far as I am aware it does not show the transactions associated with the account, only if you pay money into your paypal account from the card.

Yes, it is possible to verify an account using Visa gift card. You can verify using VCC too. For most countries credit/debit card is enough for verification. For some countries such as USA both card and Bank account necessary. If mentioned your paypal country name, then I could tell about that specifically.

If you use the card's balance through paypal to shop then your transactions will be shown up on their credit card bill. But if you use your PayPal balance which you have earned online to shop then your transactions will NOT be shown up on their credit card bill.

So it seems you are saying that I will need a bank account number and cc? I was just planning on buying a $25 visa gift card. That will not work?

 

Yes, it should work. If you can see the transaction history of the card then this card will be okay. Because will send a 4 digit expuse code on the card's statement or transaction history which you have to enter in your PayPal account to verify your PayPal account. For US Bank account, you can use your parent's bank account. No need to match US bank account name with PayPal account holder's name. Additionally if you have Social Security Number add that too to make your account more strongly verified.

 

US Paypal Need bank verify 1st then you have to use address verify Card and also need phone verify then you have no limit.
If
1.Bank added only (verified But withdrawal Limit 500.00$/Mo
2.Card added without Bank.(Unverified) Bank+card No Limit.
3.Phone verify(If your card not match with address ask Phone verify)otherwise Limited account.
Social Security Number Optional.

I still have not received a definitive answer...is it possible to withdraw/send money by using a $25 visa gift card I buy from a store?

Right now I am not able to withdraw or send money to any users because I have not linked a CC or BA. I don't care about limits, I just want to be able to send/withdraw some amount.

 

For USA u have to have a bank account but you can get around without a cc.
for the gift card it will not work in loading funds onto it. you needn't load funds by moneypak or bank account transfer.
I recommend never using paypal unless 200% needed cause eventually your going to get screwed over by them.

 

yes mate, visa gift is also a valid one.as long as it is credit/debit card you can use it to get your paypal verified.And about the credit card of your parents i suggest use another one for your security reasons.

 

Be careful mate. If your Under 18 paypal can terminate your account without warning and have NO liability to you.

 

1. Do not use a Visa gift card on a USA paypal account at all, very bad idea paypal has a system that matches the BINs (First numbers) and it tells them that it is a gift card therefor they will perm. limit your account I know a lot of people who this has happened to... If you are honestly new to Paypal make a Business account! go to your local or parents bank (If you are under 18) and get a checking account and a debit card. You can get both at age 13. Sorry to say but if you are under 13 you have no business using paypal at all. :/ Once you get a bank and debit add both of them to your account and you will be verified. Also never send gifts to anyone EVER!!!!! (send me a pm for more info)

2. No it will not show if you do not use anything out of it but every time you send money or buy anything make sure you check balance or bank or whatever you want the payment source to come out of... Keep in mind once you add the Credit Card paypal will take a small amount out (lower then 0.10) and they will ask you to confirm it by asking you what amount they took. So you can NOT just take your parents card and do this.. it has to be ok with your parents so they can tell you that number. =). Anyways if you have any other questions please send me a pm.. Verificaton is really easy with paypal , just add any valid card ,i think visa gift card is accepted by them , yes you can verify and no problems with it.
