Its not a simple website, not a rich content, tags are not define.. My suggestion to do SEO for any specific keywords, there are so many things in this site, you can't target all of them at once.
Chose keywords (if you chose wrong keyphrases then the rest could be useless...) Most important to Begin optimizing your site are Keywords :try to find keywords with more than 10k+ Searches per month and low Competition. To do that use google keyword tool. Than do ON Site optimization ( Tittles , Tags , Articles (UNIQUE) , Sitemap etc.) than go for offsite optimization that is to build backlinks to your site. Try to add more quality backlinks because google love them. So find or buy some PR2+ Backlinks , Create forum profiles , Article Directories links , Edu links etc.

Check out Googles Adwords Keywords Tool to find out which keywords are searched for most frequently. Then, for each page, put the relevant keywords into title tag (very important), h1 tag (pretty important) and weave in a natural fashion - do NOT overdo this or you could get a penalty - into content, the odd image filename, some alt text, some h2 headings etc. then get backlinks from a variety of sources using a variety of anchor text (not all keywords - include a few urls and my site etc). Don't get 1000s at once and be wary of automatic submissions or link farms etc.
