Hi, I'm preparing to launch my first Magento store and learning about all of the extensions can be daunting if not overwhelming. To anyone familiar with Magento, what would you recommend? One page checkouts, live chat, speed-ups, etc.
There have lot. did you add those ? Remerce CMS Meta Robots Advanced Sitemap Follow Up Emails Refer A Friend Magento Live Chat Magento Social Bookmarking Services Fontis_Recaptcha Facebook Connect
To reduce abandon cart and increase conversions you should use magento one step checkout extension. http://www.mageapps.com/
Having several successful Magento stores up and running, I would highly recommend the following: One Step Checkout Enterprise SEO Suite Ultimate Extended Sitemap Search AutoComplete
I have always relied on following extensions: Canonical URL for Magento Yoast_MetaRobots SEO Suite Pro Export of products for search engines Semantium_MSemanticBasic SEOgento Extended Sitemap SEO Layered Navigation CAB Pagesitemap Have never had to complain. Some of them may cost you a bit, but trust me they will greatly increase the number of organic visitors to your website. If you need any more help regarding any of these plugins, feel free to get in touch with me.
If you want to export your products to eBay and Amazon I recommend M2EPro and to expand the standard functionality of Magento's tier prices I also recommend Magpleasure's Tier Prices extension. Just check out the Magento Connect marketplace for extensions you may want to use to expand the functionality of your store.
I would recommend the Moogento.com pair: pickpack - to make packing sheets that look great (not average like the standard ones) shipeasy - to see what your orders contain and who ordered them These two make running a Magento store much more intuitive. Aheadworks.com also make some good ones. I use the Helpdesk Ultimate and Followup Emails. Just make sure that you get them working within 3 months or you'll need to pay almost the same again for support.
I would recommend the Blog extension, it is a good way to fill your site with the unique content and draw traffic. Also don't remember how it is named correctly, a perfect extension - ability to send emails to customers with a request to leave a review, a review form included in this email. Real helper.
Would have to go with Point55's recommendations—anything that's going to bring more visitors to your site will now be a major focus once your site is up and running. If you're selling within a specific niche, I would add a good blog extension too, to get more relevant visitors.
http://ecommerce.aheadworks.com/magento-extensions/points-and-rewards.html I typically make folks buy that. Nigel
This article from Pixafy has some pretty good suggestions - http://www.pixafy.com/blog/2013/06/5-useful-magento-extensions/ Also, if you're planning on using Varnish for caching, I would check out the Turpentine extension from Nexcess - http://www.nexcess.net/resources/plugins/magento-turpentine-varnish Hope this helps.
There are many extensions that are needed for an ecommerce online store like one page checkout extension, social media sharing extension, social stream extension, price bargain extension, daily deals extension and many more.
What extensions to use depends on your website purposes. Quite often shop's owners need some extensions for providing discounts (to attract more clients) You can try Quote extension (https://www.magenmagic.com/magento-quote-extension.html), for example
The best extension are the ones that you would need most for your business. That would of course mean knowing what are the needs of your business this moment. Once you have that figured out, then choosing the extensions for your site should be easy.
I can say that choice of extension depends on your buisness purposes. If to speak about popular modules, it can be Quote extension (for example https://www.magenmagic.com/magento-quote-extension.html), or some extensions for translating website

Hi, in case you're going to collect some reviews from your customers, Detailed Product Review extension could be pretty useful. It combines various instruments which can be used instead of getting a few different extensions. Also, they provide installation and customization services for a good price. You may find them at Magento Connect as MageWorkshop.
I should add that Moogento have made some significant changes to their Magento custom PDF tool, pickPack. It works really well with their custom order grid plugin, shipEasy.
