I'm going to need some help. I finally installed Xamp & Joomla. I'm on the front page of Joomla right now. My question is.....

How can you get started using Joomla?
Isn't Joomla a program where you can build a website like frontpage?

I don't have any domain names yet, I haven't picked out a hosting service I'm going to use for the Affiliate programs that I'm going to sign up with. I'll start picking a hosting service as soon as I learn how to use Joomla. If somebody can tell me on how to get started, It would be nice.

I signed up with CJ a couple of days ago and seemed very interesting and I heard that Joomla requires no techinal skill. I'm clueless when it comes to HTML.

What version are you using? im on 1.0.15. if you're just starting up, go ahead and start with joomla 1.5 to lessen the learning curve.

Its not exactly like Frontpage where you have to type in a bunch of codes. Im clueless with that either. Joomla is like building a house. When you install Joomla, what you get at first is a shell. Then you can go buy/get some paint (new templates), house services like light and water (components) and new furniture and things like TV (modules).

Joomla requires no technical skill? Awww, that hurts. LOL.

Actually Joomla does require some skill. But once you get the hang of how it works and know a tiny bit of html, it is great.
