    Hi all,

I'm reading through the Analytics forum keen to learn more.

Other than the Anayltics help section that Google provides can anyone recommend any other good training forums/blogs for newbies?

From GA you can see the amount of traffic coming to your site on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Apart from that you can see the track the keyword and the source of the traffic be it direct or SE.

Do you have a website? If it is yes then try to create an account in Google analytic with free Gmail account and then submit your website's URL there and after that a GA code will be automatically generate over there. Simply copy that code and paste it to your site's source code. This will help to track google your site's record. After that you will be able to analyze whatever you want about your site. For more help visit http://www.google.com/support/googleanalytics/.

first and the most important thing you have to remember is never have duplicate content in your website as Google may deactivate your account for having duplicate data.

I have been using google analytics for a very short time and find it very useful. I just clicked on everything to see what it actually did. It is pretty self explanatory and very useful.

I've only really been using it properly in work for a few months but I think the best way to learn is by getting your hands dirty and using analytics yourself. It's quite difficult to break something, especially if you are not an administrator of an account.

Definitely helps to get access to an account that already has data as it can be difficult to do any analysis on a brand new website though.
