New To Domains - Questions For You Experts

    Hi,

    I'm new to domains.

I have owned itsawinner.co.uk and I recently bought funnyyoutubevideo.tv but apart from a list of decent .tv names that I may potentially buy I have done nothing else.

    Questions....

    1. If you buy a good domain, develop and resell for e.g. $1000, how do you get the next good domain cheap enough since there are few good domain names available?

    2. Would it not be better to hold them over a long period and maximise adsense on each one?

    3. How can I know which ones to buy?

Thanks for any information you can give on this interesting topic.

    Hey Mal 255

I'm by no means an expert, but I'll give you my take on your questions.

    1. There are two markets for domain names - fellow domainers themselves and end users. If you are buying from, or selling to, other domainers (resellers) then the transaction amounts will be smaller. So if you are looking to buy pre-registered names cheaper than one might imagine they could be sold to end-users for, you need to find a domainers forum. There are lots. Try for example 'namepros'.

To make money you need to buy low and sell high - so buy as a reseller and then sell to end users.

    2. If you hold and develop a domain and can get traffic, then this is obviously more valuable, this might be one way that you could sell to resellers for significantly more than you bought for.

    3. Good domains are ones with keywords. Do your keyword research and find domains with these searched for terms.

    Hope this helps.

I think you should develop some domains and others you can just park.
Some domains you may just try flip fast, others keep longer and work on them further.
Always sell if you think you're getting a good offer.
Buy the domains you think have value, not too many as this can be very addictive and expensive.

After many mistakes you may get somewhere.

1.For me,i will not sell my domain lower than $10k coz its not worth it.And i will hire a person to keep scanning the domain expiring database to get some expired premium domain name.

2.In my case, adsense it not a problem coz i'm parking it at sedo.

3.Not only based on keyword,if you want to find a truly premium domain then you should take a lot of factor into it.

It's incredibly easy to buy cheap , quality existing domains with traffic and backlinks. Just use the domain name aftermarket and pick up an expired domain with a keyword phrase in the url
