Once you're applied you will get to setup some ads and you'll get codes which you'll place on your website, wherever you want them to appear.

Your primary concern should be traffic though. There's a long journey ahead of you. You will need to learn more about SEO to get any traffic coming in from search engines like google, yahoo and msn.

I'll suggest you to first let your site get some handsome figure of visitors then go for adsense. Since if your site having no visitors you will not be benefited by putting Adsense on it. No visitors no Clicks on ads hence no revenue from your site.

Yes, my opinion is similar. Better keep it clean of ads for now - would look more pretty for visitors :)
And find a good SEO book.

Thanks everyone. I guess I'm just super confused. I'm trying to reach out to watch makers and collectors. I'm not sure if adsense it the thing for me. AAAhhh. I wish I could find someone to just handle these things for me.

You can find someone, but it is usually not cheap if you want a good seo expert/webmaster to take care of these things for you. If someone is advertising his/her services really cheap usually they won't know much what they're doing. There are lots of people who advertise their services as professional, while they don't have a clue of what they're doing really.

Post some questions in the appropriate forums and educate yourself what you need to know before you hire someone.

You could maybe try and consult with a member here, ssandecki.
