You should build up a site... then read the Google TOS; after you have done that you should consider increasing the traffic to you website... after you have done that too, you should sign up adsense. After you have done that, you should increase traffic again. Good luck!
I think he meant via the DP mod. You just need to enter your Adsense ID into your profile and after you reach 50 posts you will earn from a 50% chance of an adsense impression being shown, when you make a new thread and I think when you answer a topic last. When this is all setup you will need to add an URL channel in Adsense to monitor. BTW: Can't imagine it ever being lucrative, you're lucky if you ever get a click and the CPM impressions don't mount up all that much.

Rev mod is cool, but DP is most suited for advertising your sites, building backlinks, receiving useful info/tips etc. Maybe if you used a good number of rev sharing forums and created popular threads then you could probably make some good money, not too sure. You could always hire out your signature space if you can offer a decent enough post count/quality of post!

Interesting question. DP cannot help you to build your traffic mate, you have to work hard to build your traffic, but DP is a very useful place for you to learn the methods and share your knowledge. You'll learn a lots of techniques if you read the threads on DP.
You can have the best blog/website in the world, but if you want to make money from Adsense/affiliate commissions etc then you will have to compete against all the other many sites on the web. The best way to find traffic is through Google, who dominate the market share of searches so your target should be to follow what they ask of you. They want great content and PR. To gain traffic you need to rank well in the search engine and so you will need to build PR via backlinks. If you study relevant sites that are are the very top, you will notice that they have tens of thousands of backlinks and a high PR which is what you'll have to match to earn big money. For backlinks, just add the links of your blogs in your forum signature using the keywords as hyperlinks that you would like to rank well for. You need to do this on a number of forums! Relevant backlinks are most important, but even backlinks from DP, Warrior etc will count well as they have a high PR and threads get indexed all of the time. By building up backlinks, you will be helping maximise the volume, but you will also learn a great deal of useful information on here and you can even receive traffic from these forums; you can always add an affiliate/referral link in your signature as well (SitePoint don't let you do this)! You can also build backlinks from submitting your site to free directories, just type "free directory submissions" in Google to find these, most are reciprocal. You can also gain backlinks from posting comments on relevant blog postings and you can also leave a link of your site on social bookmarking sites, social networking sites etc. Concentrate on building backlinks every day and concentrate on posting good content on your site every day and you will start to see the traffic filter through as you progress from one day to the next. You can also gain free traffic from article marketing, classified ebay listings and from free sites like Viva Street. Do some keyword reasearch as well and always make sure you are testing new ideas and formats out on your blog/site. I like monitoring progress with Statcounter, as this site gives you an idea of how you are growing every day and can montitor where it's all coming from - keywords, locations etc. Sorry that this is a little long winded, but I am at work and am extremely bored! Listen, DP is a great source for learning and discussing things. DP is not so great when it comes to making money on it, just the honest truth. You are more likely to make money using DP as a resource rather than it as an ad revenue sharing forum.
