New to CSS, need help with a coding question

I'm new to CSS but I know a bit about HTML. I know how to create a frameset and use one frame for a menu and so on, but I was wondering if this is possible in CSS? I can't seem to get a straight answer on this from the web pages I've searched, so maybe somebody here can help me with this. I guess what I'm wondering is, can a left positioned element function as a menu and dynamically change the right positioned element, or does that require PHP coding (which is something else I'm new to)? I've tried doing a test with PHP as well, but I can't get it to work. I'd really like to move out of the "stone age" of using frames if I can help it, and I don't have the time to learn Flash, my client wants his website done by next week.

    Any help is much appreciated!

    Hi Nick,

if you want to get into CSS and 'tableless' webdesign you can try http://istylr.com. If you need help to get started you can contact me there as well.
