New to ClickBank -- Conversion rate question

Discussion in 'ClickBank' started by ObZone, Jul 5, 2008.

I just started with ClickBank this week and I've placed a few ads via Adwords.

So far I've had 247 hops (according to the ClickBank analytics page) and no sales. Is it usual to have such low conversion rate, or is there something wrong with my ads, or have I picked really bad products to advertise, or is it something else?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

depend on how much your traffic costs you/if its targeted traffic.

    ObZone, welcome to clickbank!

What is your sales trail consist of? is it a Adwords Ad->Publisher sales Page?
    or
Adwords Ad -> Landing Page with appropiate content leaning to Publisher's Product with call to action (Purchase)->Publisher's Sales Page?

What is your total experience with Internet Marketing as a whole?

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm new to online marketing in general, not just to ClickBank.

Right now, I just have a few Adwords ads that go directly to the publishers' pages. I've tried to target them well with keywords, and the ads (I believe) describe the products well. I've set my max CPC pretty low, so that cuts down on the number of clicks I get for sure, but it seems like even those clicks that I do get are not resulting in sales.

I guess I'm wondering how many clicks (or hops) I should expect to see per sale using this method. So far I have about 100 clicks and 275 hops and no sales, but I'm not sure whether that is good, bad, or indifferent.

I'm also working on putting together my own landing page to try to "presell" the products, but it's not ready yet.

Adwords going directly to a publisher's page...

Will not be as effective as having a review or landing page.
So, first of all, get into a habit of building blogs and landing pages, which have content that will pre-sell the product or service.

Reword your adwords ads to not only engage the customers, but also gear them for a review/pre-sell. Looking for ideas, you should seriously look at the problem the product or service solves, and think about the issues at hand with the problem. Do some wikipedia research and think for a second "What if I was in their shoes with their problem? What would the product have in it that would benefit me the most, then second, and elsewise."

    More ideas to follow
