    Hi all,

I'm kinda new to CJ and affiliate marketing, but I wanna give it a try....

I got accepted to CJ.com with one of my websites, but I now I have the idea for a new website... So what do I do to start? Do I first build a new site and put some content on it, and then I apply to advertisers through CJ.com ?

I am php advanced level, so I am comfortable with any php programming... Also, I know Drupal very well....

I'm a little confused because I've seen sites that have only products listed... None content.. only products from various CJ advertisers. How do I make a site like that?

What would be my best options for start? Let's say I wanna build a store where I will sell music of one specific music genre.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi kx2,

I've only dabbled with CJ so my experiance is limited.

Once accepted, you will need to apply to each merchants program individually. Most merchants dont do their own check on your site, they accept the one CJ did. Others will be more fussy. There is usually no problem adding new websites to your portfolio.

Once a merchant program is added to your account, you can start placing affiliate links to them. Individual product links are known as 'deep links' because you link directly to that products 'buy me' page rather than generic links to the home page.

It sounds like you will have no problem coding a shopping site to list all the products, what is harder is getting a shopper to know you exist!

I think it's best to first decide who your target audience is before you even decide what to sell. Then work out how you will get them to visit your site. (Adverts, word of mouth, link building, pay per click advertising...) You'll have to wear your sales and marketing hat before your technically excellent store can make any money.

    Hope you make a million!

    Hi kx2,
It is a simple matter to add your new website to CJ. Just go into your account, click on "Web Site Settings", then on "Add a Website". Every website you add will get a new PID number to use just on that website.
