Can someone explain the process to me? I understand the basic concept but I just don't see how it will work.
I could explain it, but it would take a very long time. Just get my free ebook, you will see in detail how to get started - any questions, just PM me Thanks
Bum Marketing is taking advantage of any method or tool available to drive free traffic. You can send free traffic directly to affiliates or you own website (landing page) through various methods like Squidoo lenses, classified ads, forum signatures, articles in article directories, social bookmarking, videos, and what else is there...
Bum marketing is writing articles with links to your products/website then publish it to different article directories and wait until the search engines pick it up and you get traffic. Its called Bum marketing because its so easy that even Bums can do it
I'd strongly suggest using a site like squidoo for this tactic. The reason I say this is because it's free... but it'll also track your stats for you. A HUGE problem new kids face is that they don't understand WHY something isn't working the first time they try it. With Squidoo you can pretty much tell what's happening and modify. Example: If you land in the Google top 10 for a great traffic keyword and you're not getting visitors... the problem is in your title/description. Fix it and pull in traffic. If you're in the Google top 10 and you're getting traffic but nobody is clicking your affiliate links... the problem is in your copy/preselling method... Fix it and get clicks. If you're in the Google top 10 AND you're getting clicks on your link but nobody is buying... it's the freaking product. Get a new one and promote that instead. 99% of newbies do not understand how important this information is to have. If you don't know if you're coming or going you won't make much money. Hope that helps!
Here is an explanation of 1 form of bum marketing: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=973156
"Bum marketing" is just a term thought up by some guy who sells an e-book on article marketing. Not a very good one, either. Article marketing, that's all it is.
