I'm an artist, writer, gamer, nerd, etc. I recently wanted to start blogging, and I have dabbled a little in blogger by Google in the past, but not much. I'm mainly wanting to use my blog to host and sell my art, show art tutorials, and just my little niche. I have hopped around the web here and there but figured this was the best blog to post questions. Even if you can't answer the questions, a link to where I may find the answer would be appreciated. I'm trying to figure out what the in's and out's of blogger and wordpress are, as I have no real knowledge of HTML coding, I am not sure which would be better. Also, the google adsense seems like a good basic idea for income, but I'm not positive. Sorry if this has already been answered, I tried searching but couldn't really get a solid answer or make much sense of it. Thanks again.
You and I share a lot of the same interests, but without a clear goal of your blog, it is a bit hard to provide guidance. Both Blogger and WordPress (WP) are very easy to use, Blogger is much more customizable in terms of templates and ads than hosting a blog at WordPress.com, though. The best way to go, though, is to download WP from WordPress.org and buy hosting (or start for free at 000webhost) and a domain name. From there, you can do whatever you want. There are tons of template options no matter where you go, but hosting your own blog will give you the biggest chance to grow. Installing a template and writing a post require zero coding options, even installing AdSense ads through a self hosted WP blog requires no looking at code. You will need to copy and paste an ad code into a Blogger template, though. WP.com doesn't allow your own ads. Regardless of which you choose, I highly recommend learning some basic HTML commands so that you can switch up your design of your template and/or posts a little bit.
Blogger is free and Wordpress.org is not. I wouldn't recommend blogger because they went on a stint and was shutting people sites down. If you would like to start free and later upgrade I would recommend website builders. They are easy to use and you can also have a blog with most of them.
buy domain and hosting(unlimited hosting) : it takes $12 on first year on ipage use this link and put LADYBUG code ( ends march 31 )
If you an artist the go out there and brand yourself. I mean it's easy to do it just buy your name domain, hosting and you are ready to start. If you use wordpress on your site then you don't need to learn html. Wordpres is easy to learn and you have so many free or paid themes out there it's just ridicules. You can personalize everything with a few clicks. You also can get some help if needed from from sites like fiverr, elance and so on. Start branding yourself. Also use social media like twitter, facebook and especially for you pinterest. Use video marketing on Youtube for your tutorials and post them on your site. Just get started and take massive action!!!
