I have started using amazon for the past one month. Although I registered for an associate account long time ago but never looked back after registering. For the past one month I had manually put product links on one of my blogs which receives 200-400 Impressions daily, over 80% from search engines. Not much traffic but with this amount of traffic my product links were clicked for over 100 times but I still do not see any sales generated. Is there something I am doing wrong like wrong product selection ? or placement ? FYI I have a cooking related blog which has food recipes and I post product links that are relevant to the content. Still no success. Any advice on this one ?
Most of the items are between $25-$100 and very few are above that. Some cooking related books are even below $25 that I have added to the blog.
1 in 100 is around the average conversion rate. Give it a few more hits and you should get a sale. Saying that some of my sites convert a lot high than that whilst others a lot worse.
Amazon-Aff with SEO has the low conversion rate. The best way is get more traffic and put the right products to the visitor.
To be successful with Amazon you have to have ultra targeted traffic, because there is only a 24 hour cookie.(and not the kind you are selling)
Also check to see if the products you are selling can easily be purchased elsewhere for less. It could be the items you are advertising are too expensive and adding different items that are more competitively prices. I would choose an item, check google for the same item and see how the price compares. If it is higher than you can find in a quick search, then it most likely will not sell. But if the item is lower you have a far greater chance of selling. It takes some work but the pay off is worth it.
The program was started just 1 month back? Wait for a while, and try to tune the ads in the mean time. Do you know the demographics of visitors? IMO, anybody knows typical conversion rates for food related product ads? Good luck!
Don't worry, just try to get more click. I get more than 300 clicks just for 1 items for some expensive niche. And just 100 clicks for 3 items on cheap stuff.
Check out the tips I wrote on using Amazon affiliate links with blogs. It's somewhere on digitalpoint
$25-$100 is this too expensive for my SE traffic ? 3 years seems to be a lot of time my friend but I am glad you are now generating steady sales through amazon. This is something that I can work on. Thanks for the tip ! over 75% of my visitors are from USA and I am adding linking to products on Amazon.com . So you are saying that amazon will not work with my site/niche ? Thanks Parka. I already read your post. Very informative and some great tips that I am already getting benefit from. Hope to see a conversion soon ! More suggestions are welcome !
What niche is your blog? Are those products same niche? What visitors you get, webmasters or ones who are looking for products or smth like that?
@ mg_ My blog is related to cooking recipes and visitors are searching for recipe titles and reaching my blog. I link to the tools/appliances/ingredients used in the recipe and even provide links to the related cooking recipe books from amazon.
