Any Good advise on which programs to join out there. Please no super affiliate links. I feel for that one already.
I have joined CJ, Adsense, and Performics, The others I have seen seem difficult to get use to and if you don't use them with in a few days they stop the account. Some don't give you very much time to decide what to use as ads.
    Thanks in Advance

Have you tried out Shareasale.com yet? They are smaller than CJ, but have some quality programs listed on there. I have my electronics company on there. They have a lot of good categories and their support is great.

CJ use to and may still suspend your account for 6 months inactivity so watch that one. Some others you could look into is CPA affiliate networks as they seem to be doing well with many people these days.

Although I have heard of CJ and Share-a-sale, Clickbank seems to be the only affiliate network I am familiar with. How would you compare the others with Clickbank; better, worse or what?

I don't think that you could say who is better and who is not. For some people some programs works better then others and other way around. It all depends on what you need and which program (network) can give you that.

Can this happen even if I make no sales, but have some clicks?

All of the ones mentioned above are very good but the key to making an affiliate program work is you and only you. You have to learn about what you are promoting and then work work work to promote it.

I don't think so. As long you have clicks, you are active.

Thanks for the ideas. I do have one clickbank ad but never had a click on it.
There are so many know that I looked harder.
Seems like alot to keep track of if one were to use more than 3 or 4.
What works better would be my next question. I'm sure its a relitive. I need to get a grasp of this stuff so I stand a chance.

it's not a question which program to use, but which product. Make shure that you will chose product/s that are relevent to your content and most of all - easy to sell. Just ask your self "would I buy this product?". If answer is no then look for another one.

To echo Pixelhut, figure out what product you want to promote. Find something that fits the content of your existing site, or if you want to build a new site, just start doing some keyword research.

Once you find out what type of product you want to promote, now take a look at companies who are offering that product and see if and where they have affiliate programs.

If you're just looking for the "best" network and the "best" programs on those networks, as a newbie chances are you'll fail and get discouraged. The best performing programs from the statistics usually have the most experienced and successful affiliates promoting them and competing with you.

Find a subject / product that interests you, then your motivation / interest level can be maintained while you are learning.

It's not all about affiliate networks... I usually decide what I want to promote and then I start looking for affiliate program that offer that. Most of them are individually programs and they are not a part of network.

    Thanks again
I'm all about skiing and snowboarding. I was trying to find the affiliate that handles the ticket coupons, but I have had no luck. I have websites but I want to do something on the side building from scratch so I can learn to do what I see the folks here doing. Selling information people want.
Making a good looking site thats easy to navigate will be what I do once I find the right affiliate.
There is is so much to learn. I get so wacked out some times. I get pulled in one direction then find something else. I must have A.D.D or something.
Thanks guys keep the ideas coming please

Pixel Hut is right - you have to find the right product. Anyway i could recommend to take a glance at click2sell.eu affiliate marketing network. Just keep in mind that it was launched recently.

If you are all about skiing and snowboarding then you know how much money skiers/borders spend on equipment. Is better that you work with affiliate that sells this kind of goodies. Make some equipment reviews on your site. What is new, what is good what is not,... and put banner/image/link of that product next to review. Check out this affiliate programs:

http://www.usoutdoorstore.com/d_affiliates/ they have ski and snowboars section
    http://www.vintageskiworld.com/affiliate_info.asp they sale ski posters
    http://www.complete-ski.com/affiliate-page.cfm ski insurance
    http://www.ski.com/affiliate/affiliate.aspx all about skiing
    http://www.ski-insurance.co.uk/affiliate.php ski insurance
    http://www.ski-holidays.com/partners/affiliate.aspx - ski holidays offers

There is many programs like this, all you have to do is using google. Visit your favorite online ski shops and see if they have affiliate program.
