New to Affiliate Programs - need suggestions

I'm complete new to Affiliate Programs, I would like to know what the best are. Amazon? ClickBank? CJ?

It will be used on my present and future sites, the subjects I'm interested in are: Travel, Shopping (Auto, Jewerly)...

Can you please give me the pros and contros of programs you use/know?

Affiliate Networks are very good as you can choose many different merchants and all your earnings will be consolidated into one check.

Amazon - I have not tried, but know it's good, although it may be hard to convert or to ROI because so many people already use them.

Clickbank - you need to get a minimum of 4 sales from 4 different credit cards before they release your payments even if you have reached the minimum payout amount of not. They also deducted $2 per month if you don't make any sales within a certain time frame.

CJ - CJ has some good merchants, but if you are new at affiliate marketing and don't know how will you will do then CJ may not be for you as they have closed many peoples accounts after 6 months of inactivity. This means that if you don't get 1 sale in every 6 months period, you could get your account suspended meaning that all your links on your site will not track anything anymore.

ShareASale is a good network to probably start of with and there are also some others. If you want to earn on a CPA basis then there are also quite a few good CPA Affiliate Networks on the web.

Is there a program for travel site? For example to get commission on airfares or hotel booking?

I recommend that you sign up for CJ, Click Bank, Amazon, LinkShare and ShareASale.

Look through the merchants that each one has to offer and select those that are appropriate for your page's contents

 

Only signup to CJ if you know you will or are likely to get sales within every 6 months period. Also, if you don't know, then you could still join just to see what they offer as some merchants listed may have some types of programs that you will easily be able to earn from. CJ does have ebay listed in it.

 

I think if you're an affiliate, you can sign up to as many network solutions as you can. That means more and better tracking.

But if you're a merchant sign up to the one that will not cost you a lot without sacrificing quality of their work or performance. Although sometimes it's best if you spend or pay more than the usual, you can still test the waters through cheaper stuff.

 

Yes, the amount of affiliate programs and affiliate networks you signup to is unlimited. But don't forget the more you signup to, then the more work you have to do in adding each one to your site. You also don't want to over do your site with ads and don't forget the more affiliate programs and networks you will have to try and reach the minimum payout levels for.

 

To increase your commissions, try to spam...
and i am sure you will get big commissions...

 

Yes spamming is a good idea if you want to break most affiliate program, if not all their TOS. It is against their TOS to spam. I would not recommend it.

 

It is certainly advisable to join at least a few networks to see if they have what you are looking for.

Also, look out for payment reliability, and decent tracking reports!

It depends whether you are a corporation or not. If you are not then you can't really say you are a corporation. If you are a corporation then it is likely to look more professional when it comes to the approve stages of any affiliate program.

Try everything.
Sign up everywhere and try everything until you're able to figure out something that works for you and earns you money.

Remember though - get traffic first, then momentize it.

 

My conversion has been great with Amazon. But I have a strategy that is specifically built around an Amazon Web Services play....

I don't know too much about the others as my other focus is on promoting my own.

Yep, I agree that if you don't try something then you will never know how it could have performed on your website. That is one of the main rules in affiliate marketing is that you have to try different things out all of the time. If you don't try it, then you will never know.

Yep as affiliatez said, you should join up with a few of them as they have a few different offers and also some of the pay slightly higher than other networks for the same offers. Don't go over the mark though and sign up to everything as the more you signup to the more harder it will become to reach your minimum payouts if you were promoting offers from each network. But if you had a larger popular site then this would be a different story.

There are many top CPA Affiliate Networks on the web.
