I'm an affiliate merchant and you can join the affilaite program in my sig for free. After that you set up a blog. Write a few posts establishing yourself as an expert. Write some articles , put the link to the blog in your authors box Ping your blog Bookmark your articles Build backlinks Then start writing blog posts and cleverly work in your affiliate links. All of that is free to get started . As you grow you can invest some money in article writers, links submissions services, PPC. That's a basic start and if you sign up to my affiliate program I'b be happy to walk you thru it. So far all that is free and you can be up and running in a few days
There are multiple ways for you to advertise offers. You can either choose to use money, or use free tactics in the process. If you plan on not spending any money, then either writing articles that will focus on the product your promoting, or putting up a website and trying to rank it well for keywords would be good option. Though, with that option, you will have to wait months and months before you start seeing any serious money. If you have couple hundred dollars to invest, then you should try PPC - Pay Per Click; such as Google, Yahoo, Facebook and Myspace. You will get fairly decent traffic right away, so you will see positive or negative results right away. If I were you, I would spend another 2-3 weeks reading up on information, so you understand a good part of affiliate marketing, and could understand the basic tactics.
